EchoLink
HF Gateway
THIS GATEWAY HAS BEEN BARRED by the EchoLink people. So it is not active any more.
This Page is on the construction of my HF EchoLink Gateway, Hope this will help others trying to setup the same.
Connection to the World Wide Web
To the Computer
And then I have a USB Sound card connected
With a 3K ohm to 3K ohm CT - blue
On the TX audio line from soundcard Just before the radio mike socket
This is then connected to the Mike socket on the front
Of the IC-7400 Radio with The VOX on the radio set
To PTT the radio and the Mike gain set at about
11 O’clock position, The Voice Control Squelch
(VSC) is used in the ICOM
To provide RX control to the EchoLink software.
The EchoLink software is configured like the diagram below.
Note that the squelch crash anti-trip is set to the max to minimise small static crashes and other short noise. VERY important is that all audio leads are well shielded and grounded to stop the RF from bleeding back into the audio.
